Melody Reynolds is a local cheesemaker and owner of Reynolds Barn Farm. Her family farm and business started with just a few goats and has evolved into a life-long project. Melody’s business first started with goat milk soaps, herbal packs, and scrubs. In August 2009 Reynold’s Barn became certified in RI to make and sell goat cheese. Immediately Melody began creating a mild goat cheese with a clean distinct flavor. She then expanded her cheesemaking to include goats milk ricotta (called RI-Goata), Mozzarella, Grilling Cheese and Yogurt.
Farm Fresh RI’s annual fundraising event at Castle Hill in Newport, RI was Melody’s first cheese event. Since that day, she has sold thousands of pounds of cheese and won may gold and bronze medals.
